Why join The London Studio?

If you love creativity and working closely with talented Artists then we want to hear from you. You’ll be able to work fully remotely in a role that offers flexibility, a good work-life balance and you’ll have control over your time.

Why The London Studio?

We at The London Studio create commercially successful brands and products for retail. We license in-house brands and have launched our amazing Artists Network of independent artists, enabling us to offer their innovative designs to select retailers and manufacturers worldwide, bringing breakthrough product to market.

We’ve won multiple industry awards including The Gift of the Year and Henries Awards and our mission is to shake up the licensing space with the most exciting designers and our innovative approach.

We pride ourselves on being small and nimble but don’t believe that being able to flex to changing trends and market conditions should come at the expense of our employees wellbeing.

Why you?

You’ll ideally have experience in licensing, or alternatively, relevant experience in business development or retail buying, with knowledge of licensed product. The ideal background would be in licensing - perhaps you are a freelance licensing consultant, or, you may currently be working at a licensing agency and looking for a role which offers you more flexibility, a better work/life balance, less hours and remote working where you can manage your own time. OR, you may have had a career in new business development or retail buying but seeking a change of direction and more freedom to launch and develop your own projects.

The role

Reporting to the business director you will be spearheading new licensing opportunities across greetings cards and giftware primarily. This will involve sourcing opportunities for new business as well as developing new deals with existing clients and being in regular contact with our amazing Artists.

What’s involved

  • Develop and maintain existing licensing partners to ensure continued business growth

  • Recommend growth opportunities in new categories and lead the development of pitch materials.

  • Coordinate the processing of Direct-to-Retail (DTR) contracts from deal memo to approval.

  • Create and distribute regular email updates to retail buyers and licensees.

  • Arrange and participate in on-site and off-site business meetings and tradeshows with licensees (some travel may be required).

Your skills

  • Be comfortable generating your own leads and following up leads passed on by The London Studio’s business director

  • Experience in negotiating, reviewing, amending, and drafting licensing agreements (based on existing examples) would be preferred

  • Able to craft and deliver presentations with multiple collaborators remotely.

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills. You can build and explain financial models and have spreadsheet skills.

  • Some understanding of design and design processes (such as file types, art working and Adobe Creative Suite) would be a bonus but not essential

What’s in it for you?

As employee of The London Studio, you will enjoy a remote work life and daily flexibility, exclusive retail discounts, a competitive financial package and 25 days annual leave (pro-rata)
